Yashar Omarov – Head of the Unit of Higher and Secondary Professional Education at the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He studied at Baku State University (Azerbaijan) and graduated all tree levels (BSc, MSc, PhD) from this higher education institution. In 2007 he obtained PhD degree in field of Biochemistry.

He worked on different positions (laboratory assistant, Head of the laboratory, Lecturer, Associate Professor, vice-dean) at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University. Since 2014 he started to work at the Ministry of Education as senior adviser at the Department of Science and Higher Education.

Now he is one of the higher education reform experts from Azerbaijan, and National Contact Point of Marie-Sklodowska Curie Action of HORIZON-2020 programme.
